An Afternoon of P.D.Q. Bach – Mar 25, 2017

Philharmonia Northwest is honored to present the West Coast premier of Peter Schickele’s latest discovery, PDQ Bach’s Concerto for Simply Grand Piano and Orchestra, with the noted piano virtuoso Jeffrey Biegel as soloist. The amazing range of PDQ Bach’s talents are celebrated in this festive concert with other humorous works – the tasteful oratorio, The Seasonings, S. 1-½ tsp, the heart-wrenching Liebeslieder Polkas, and the beloved Eine Kleine NICHTmusik. We’re thrilled to welcome you to our very first Chamber Musicale, an afternoon of chamber music with tea, coffee and treats! Come and join us as our talented orchestra musicians play delightful chamber music in an informal concert. The repertoire will include Bach’s famous double violin concerto, the soulful Brahms clarinet quintet, and exuberant new pieces for brass quintet and wind ensemble by Clark McAlister and Jean Francaix.

This is a free concert! (Donations welcome.)

I’m happy to announce another Fall Flute Recital:

Dusting off some old favorites including Bach and Poulenc Sonatas with piano, Griffes Poem, reprising The Jet Whistle flute-cello duet, and trying some crazy modern techniques in a short piece by Ian Clarke (which may remind you of Ian Anderson…) called Zoom Tube.

Kristine Anderson joins me on piano, Chris Worswick on cello.

Admission: $15 suggested donation.

Free parking in the Skyline garage in marked Trinity spaces.

Flute Recital at Magnolia UCC – Sun 10/27/13

I’m excited to announce an upcoming Solo Flute Recital this Fall!

When: 2:00pm on Sunday, Oct 27, 2013

Where: Magnolia United Church of Christ, 3555 W. McGraw Street, Seattle

Dusting off some old favorites including Bach and Poulenc Sonatas with piano, Griffes Poem, reprising The Jet Whistle flute-cello duet, and trying some crazy modern techniques in a short piece by Ian Clarke (which may remind you of Ian Anderson…) called Zoom Tube.  Also a brand new Lullaby, written in honor the expected bundle of joy, for alto flute, cello and piano.

Kristine Anderson joins me on piano, Chris Worswick on cello.

Admission is a freewill donation, all proceeds going to charity.  A reception with desserts, coffee, and tea will follow the program.
