What a gorgeous Saturday! This morning I sat outside looking at the buds on the trees sipping my coffee, later had a nice lazy lounge with friends reading in Cal Anderson Park, then ice cream on the way back home (how could we resist?). It seemed so inviting outside that I brought my flute out on my tiny porch balcony and added my long tones and harmonic minor scales to the sounds of robust wind chimes (I can’t see them but I hear them) and bird calls. I couldn’t tell if any passers-by noticed my warmups or if my sound stuck in tree-level and was filtered out by the white noise of traffic and such below. I doubt too many neighbors could hear me in any case – on a day like today everyone is at the park!
