I’m excited to announce an upcoming Solo Flute Recital this Fall!
When: 2:00pm on Sunday, Oct 27, 2013
Where: Magnolia United Church of Christ, 3555 W. McGraw Street, Seattle
Dusting off some old favorites including Bach and Poulenc Sonatas with piano, Griffes Poem, reprising The Jet Whistle flute-cello duet, and trying some crazy modern techniques in a short piece by Ian Clarke (which may remind you of Ian Anderson…) called Zoom Tube. Also a brand new Lullaby, written in honor the expected bundle of joy, for alto flute, cello and piano.
Kristine Anderson joins me on piano, Chris Worswick on cello.
Admission is a freewill donation, all proceeds going to charity. A reception with desserts, coffee, and tea will follow the program.
If you can’t make this one, catch the same program on Sat. Oct 12 at Trinity in First Hill (see post).
The charity we will partner with for this performance is Mary’s Place , a Seattle organization that empowers homeless women and children to reclaim their lives. Specifically we will collect donations for diapers and clothing for teens and tweens, which are more difficult to find second-hand. As a soon-to-be mom, I’m excited to be helping out other moms and children through this great agency.
