I’m excited to be playing in the orchestra for this multimedia performance, presented by South Puget Sound Community College Music Department with Dr. John Guarante conducting.
“Voices of Light” Oratorio by Richard Einhorn, for chamber orchestra, vocal soloists and choir, was inspired by Carl Dreyer’s iconic 1928 film “The Passion of Joan of Arc”. Incorporating slowed-down Gregorian chant and a libretto in Latin and Middle French, the music’s style is true to the setting of the story. The acclaimed classic film will be shown along with the oratorio as live soundtrack. (In case you’re not familiar with the story of Joan of Arc, be advised it may not be suitable for children.)
